The Athletics (A's) began as the Philadelphia Athletics in 1901. The team moved in 1955 to Kansas City and played there until 1967. The team moved to it's current home in Oakland in 1968. Notable alumni include Catfish Hunter, Rollie Fingers, Reggie Jackson and Vida Blue. The teams most significant accomplishment is the threepeat World Series Championships in 1972, 1973 & 1974. The A's play in the American League West Division.
