Iconic Superstar's New Album, I AM... SASHA FIERCE, Enters Japan's International Album Chart at #1

NEW YORK New York  /PRNewswire/ -- Global superstar and cultural icon Beyonce has just entered Japan's International Album chart at #1 with her new album, I AM... SASHA FIERCE, the artist's first-ever double-disc studio collection.

I AM... SASHA FIERCE is the third consecutive Beyonce solo album to enter the Japanese charts at #1. Her last two solo collections -- B'Day (2006) and B'Day Deluxe Edition (2007) -- each debuted in Japan at #1.

One of 2008's most hotly anticipated new album releases, I AM... SASHA FIERCE is Beyonce's first new studio collection since her Grammy-winning multi-platinum-selling B'Day debuted at #1 on charts around the world shortly after its international release on September 4, 2006 (in celebration of Beyonce's 25th birthday).

Each of the discs on Beyonce's new double album reveals a distinctly different side of her personality, character and sensibility, a forum for the yin-and-yang of her developing artistry.

One of the discs, titled I AM..., provides Beyonce with a musical showcase for a group of intimate heartfelt ballads while the SASHA FIERCE disc gives voice to Beyonce's up-tempo dance-oriented other side.

Beyonce's fans got their first taste of the two sides of I AM... SASHA FIERCE with the simultaneous release in early October of "If I Were A Boy" (from I AM...) and "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" (from SASHA FIERCE).

Songs on Beyonce's I AM... include "If I Were A Boy," "Halo," "Disappear," "Broken Hearted Girl," "Ave Maria," and "Satellites." Beyonce's SASHA FIERCE performances include "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," "Radio," "Diva," "Sweet Dreams," and "Video Phone."

Executive Produced by Beyonce Knowles and Mathew Knowles for Music World Productions, Inc., I AM... SASHA FIERCE will be available in the U.S. on Tuesday, November 18.

Beyonce Knowles stars with Adrien Brody and Jeffrey Wright in the upcoming feature film, "Cadillac Records," opening nationwide Friday, December 5.

Cadillac Records - Music From The Motion Picture -- premiering new recordings by Beyonce, including her performance of Etta James' "At Last" -- will be in stores Tuesday, December 2.
